Hyden Centenary Entry Statements – 2022

Overview Design and Fabrication Process

In early 2022 we were approached by the Shire of Kondinin and the Hyden Progress Committee. We were asked to present design options for the new Hyden town entry statements.

The entry statements were to be part of the town’s Centenary celebrations in October 2022.

Our design was chosen to go forward for fabrication.

Constructed from layered ‘waves’ of corten weathering steel and stainless steel and boxed stainless steel lettering, the two entry statements stand at either end of town.

The design represents the wave shape of the nearby tourist attraction of Wave Rock.

The simple, classic design also incorporated the laser cut date of the establishment of the town.

Standing at 1.8 metres high by 4.8 metres long, the sculptures make beautiful statements of arrival in town.
