Carol Stevens

Carol Stevens is a Western Australian artist, living and working in the Fremantle area.

Her designs work on many levels, from hand-drawn sketches and watercolours to laser etching in metal, wood, stone, glass or acrylic. She also adapts her designs for laser cutting and they are available as motifs in bronze.

Carol’s design work is available in vitreous enamel, mainly for use as kitchen splashbacks.

Wherever possible, her work incorporates recycled or re-purposed materials. Many of her designs incorporate the effect of combining contrasting materials.

“I prefer to work initially from hand drawings in pencil and paper. These I then covert into files to be either cut or etched by the laser. Careful consideration must be given to the design when cutting to ensure that the design will stay intact, bridged where necessary to give added strength.”
