Artforms WA supported artist, Denise Pepper, through the design, engineering, fabrication and delivery of her 2024 Sculptures by the Sea submission – Women Wear Trousers.
We produced the design files for Capral Aluminium to cut the donated 40mm aluminium sheet.
Capral routed the grooves in both sides of the upright section of the sculpture.
Artforms hand routered the sculptures edges and finished all surfaces, including the high pol finish to the three-tiered base.
Artforms’ files were adjusted and used to laser cut the Rimex steel which was inserted into the routered circular grooves – matt finish to one face, mirror finish to the other.
We devised a strong invisible, sub-surface methodology for connecting the upright to the base section.
We delivered the sculpture to Cottesloe beach and provided the high pol ‘Z’ brackets to compliment the sculpture and secure it to its footing on the beach.
Artforms WA supported at least six other small WA businesses in the fabrication, delivery and installation of this artwork.
