Kondinin ANZAC Horse – April 2015

ANZAC 100th Anniversary

The WA 10th Light Horse Regiment Memorial was custom designed by our team. The horse is made from corten steel standing 3.5 metres high. The Horse is mounted upon a granite outcrop for the maximum effect, where it is silhouetted against the rising sun. The sculpture is layered and embossed to add realism and detail. The layering process involved the welding together of multiple laser cut sections of 6mm corten steel plate. The memorial horse silhouette is a scalable vector so can be manufactured to any size, meeting requirement such as budget. The brief was to design and create a lasting ANZAC Memorial to be unveiled at sunrise on ANZAC Day 2015. The Memorial design commemorates the WA 10th Light Horse Regiment whose battle honours include Gallipoli.

Wow At Any Scale!

The horse still has the wow factor at any size, allowing light to shine through. Remembrance Parks in Melbourne purchased the memorial horse at 1 metre high with fewer embossing details – meeting their requirements and budget.
