Coastal Lakes College Gate and Fence
Gates For New High School
In 2019 we worked with Indigenous artist collaborator, Kylie Graham, on a project for the newly constructed Coastal Lakes College. We assisted Kylie to make her hand-drawn leaf emblems suitable for cutting using a laser cutter. These were fabricated from 5mm anodised aluminium panels.
Two custom-designed fences were required. The entry fence was made from 1.8 metre high triple layered aluminium – being a combination of powder-coated and anodised aluminium of different colours. The entry fence was 20 metres long. The rear fence was constructed from single layer 5mm anodised aluminium. It is 45 metres long, including vehicle entry and public access gates with customised hinges.
Special care was taken to reduce the likelihood of finger-entrapment for the school environment.
