Noongar Seasons
In 2017 Indigenous artist, Kylie Graham, was commissioned by Stockland Property Group to create a sculpture based on Noongar seasons. The artwork is sited next to a lake in Aveley. Her design consisted of a 6 metre tall corten tree. The birds, representing Aboriginal seasons, were made of 6mm thick 316 stainless steel. They were embossed to make them more three-dimensional and then powder coated in respective season colour. The birds direct visitors around the lake where they can find vitreous enamel plaques, describing the different Noongar seasons and associated bird activities.
